Five Reasons Why It’s Worth Hiring a Professional Photographer’s Studio
If you’re an up-and-coming commercial photographer or just want to learn more about the craft of taking pictures, hiring out a professional studio might seem like a rather daunting prospect. However, there are plenty of reasons why this choice might be a highly cost-effective move. Here, Lee Hayes, who offers photography studio hire for clients in Suffolk and Essex, outlines some of the key benefits.
1. You’ve Got Full Control of the Environment
In a professional studio, you don’t have to worry about changeable variables such as temperature and light. Sunlight, in particular, can strongly affect where, when and how you take your pictures. Rain and snow can have a similar effect and may even mean outdoor sessions have to be cancelled completely.
Even in your own home, you may not have as much control as in a studio. Shooting in a purpose-built studio with professional lighting will sharpen up virtually any image and also give you full control of backgrounds and composition.
2. It’s Time-Efficient
You don’t have to move long distances from shot to shot. Therefore, it is comparatively easy to add a feature or prop to a shot, or likewise, to take it away. Also, you can fully focus on the job at hand without distractions from the general public (outdoors) or your family (if doing the shoot at home).
3. You’ve Got Access to Props and Equipment
Professional photography studios usually have a wide range of equipment that will help you to get exactly the shot you want. These include furniture such as tables and chairs, along with lighting, backgrounds, photographic equipment (tripods, boom stands, etc). Buying these yourself can be prohibitively expensive if you only need them rarely or for one particular project or job.
4. Creature Comforts are on Hand
People need to eat and drink, wash and freshen up, as well as go to the bathroom. Outdoor shoots can pose a big problem to all of these, particularly if it’s a long shoot. For example, just finding somewhere to eat can cost you valuable time and invariably more money.
In a studio, many of these facilities will be available at the premises, or at most very close by.
5. You’ve Got Access to Expertise
Many studio owners are also professional photographers who are quite happy to be on hand and pass on their valuable advice and experience as to how to get the most out of your session.
I will not just explain the features of the studio, but will also be able to help you with the sourcing of props and backgrounds. If I can help you in any way, I will. This additional help may be reflected in the price of the studio hire.
